1953
An idea is born
1953
Suleman Panwala, Chairman of the 'Basic Democracy' Committee, guided his son Yasin
to found a logistics business in the Ahmed Mahal complex on Prathna Samaj Road, opposite the Civil Hospital. It began with one simple idea: impeccable service. That premise still holds, 70 years on.
1960
Growth begins
1960
Yasin was joined by two of his five younger brothers,
Ashraf Suleman and Bashir Suleman, strengthening the founding team. In 1965, together they founded "Cargo Express," marking a defining step forward. The enterprise saw steady growth in the years that followed.
1967
The need for a larger office
1967
As the business outgrew Ahmed Mahal,
an Airfreight operations division was founded to meet rising demand. This marked the company's first major step beyond its original cargo roots. A larger footprint meant a larger vision for what the business could become. Cargo Express moved just across the street to Shahbaz Plaza, still within the Thattai Compound complex, to house a bigger, more extensive operation.
1980
Diversification
1980s
The company diversified further,
expanding into Aviation Management alongside its established freight operations. This broadened the portfolio beyond logistics into a new sector entirely. It reflected a growing appetite for calculated, strategic expansion.
1997
World Wide Group is founded
1997
World Wide Group, as it's known today, was officially born
bringing decades of freight, cargo, and aviation experience under one unified identity. This was the moment the family business became a true group. Everything before had built toward this consolidation.
2017
New Blood, new energy
2017
A new generation stepped in,
bringing fresh energy and perspective to a company built on seven decades of heritage. This infusion of new leadership signaled the start of the next chapter. It set the tone for the transformation to come.
2022
WWG enters the digital age
2022
A vision for transformation was crafted,
charting WWG's move into digital and intelligent systems. This marked a deliberate shift from legacy operations toward smarter, tech-driven ways of working. It laid the foundation for the full digital transition realized in 2025.
